Matilda The Musical was inspired by the beloved book by Roald Dahl. Coming to the Bristol Hippodrome from 2nd – 27th June 2026.

Matilda The Musicalcelebrates 15 spectacular years on stage since its debut at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. After performances in over 100 cities and 17 countries, this beloved production returns for an exciting new UK tour.

With a book by Dennis Kelly, music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, and direction by Matthew Warchus, this multi-award-winning musical tells the story of a remarkable young girl. Matilda uses her sharp mind and vivid imagination to challenge expectations and take control of her own future.

Please note: this performance includes flashing lights, lasers, loud sound effects, and stage haze. Latex balloons are popped on stage, and actors may interact within audience spaces throughout the show.

This production is not suitable for children under 6 years of age. Children under 4 years of age (including babes in arms) will not be admitted into the auditorium. Children need to occupy their own seats at all times throughout the performance. To help us make sure everyone enjoys the show, your little ones need to be able to sit in their own seat without any assistance.
