Disney’s Aladdin

Disney’s Aladdin is flying in on a magic carpet to Bristol Hippodrome. On stage from 10th July – 11th August 2024.

Disney’s Aladdin the musical is a spectacular and magical adaptation of the beloved animated film that has enthralled audiences around the world. Premiering on Broadway in 2014. The musical brings to life the enchanting tale of a street-smart young man, a beautiful princess, and a magical genie.

The musical transports audiences to the bustling streets of Agrabah. Where they follow the adventures of Aladdin, a resourceful “diamond in the rough” who dreams of a better life beyond the confines of the marketplace. When Aladdin stumbles upon a magical lamp containing a genie who grants him three wishes, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery, love, and adventure.

One of the highlights of Aladdin the musical is its lavish production design. Which dazzles with vibrant colors and intricate costumes. As well as stunning set pieces that evoke the opulence and grandeur of the Arabian Nights. From the bustling marketplace to the majestic palace of Agrabah, the stage comes alive with the sights and sounds of this magical world.

The film versus the musical

The musical features a score that seamlessly blends beloved songs from the original film. Including “A Whole New World,” “Friend Like Me,” and “Prince Ali,”. With new musical numbers that add depth and dimension to the story. The music, composed by Alan Menken with lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, and Chad Beguelin. These capture the essence of the characters and the spirit of adventure that defines the story.
