Hamilton the award winning musical is heading out on tour. Coming to the Bristol Hippodrome from 30th April – 22nd June 2024.

Hamilton is a groundbreaking musical that premiered on Broadway in 2015, created by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The show tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s Founding Fathers. Through a mix of hip-hop, R&B, and traditional show tunes. The musical was inspired by Ron Chernow’s biography of Hamilton and features a diverse cast portraying the white historical figures of the American Revolution.

The show covers Hamilton’s life from his arrival in America as an immigrant to his role in the American Revolution and the creation of the United States government. It also delves into his personal life, including his relationships with his wife, Eliza Schuyler. As well as her sister Angelica, and his friend-turned-rival, Aaron Burr. The musical explores themes of ambition, legacy, and the cost of political power.

Hamilton has been praised for its innovative blend of musical genres. Its use of diverse casting, and its unique storytelling style. The show has won numerous awards, including 11 Tony Awards, a Grammy Award, and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
